Hailing from New South Wales, Purple Disturbance are a four piece punk/alternative art rock powerhouse cutting through the noise with gritty riffs and razor-sharp attitude.

Equal parts loose chaos and tight precision, they serve up a blistering nod to punk ;legends like the Ramones and modern firebrands like IDLES, Amyl and the Sniffers and The Vines. Lyrically they are fearless, reflecting small town struggles and social truths with brutal honesty.

From underage drinking to vaping to family violence and local bigotry, Purple Disturbance tackle it all with a fierce mix of humour, rebellion and raw emotion.

Frontman Thom is a magnetic storm, part Hutchence, part Morrison, part Iggy Pop, however mostly himself, as he characterises the subjects of the lyrics while sharing his confidence, taking audiences with him on a deeper journey into every song.

Josh drives the low-end with pulsing, unpredictable basslines and Jess hits hard with pure punk power, but it’s her secret groove that gives her an edge—it’s a rare and unique element as
Jed’s Gretsch grind weaves seamlessly between the rhythm section, making the sound a
perfect balance of energy and precision.

It’s too good and the songs are singular, distinctive and define a flow from one great track into
another. The power is undeniable, alluring, and Thom channels that energy completely,
making the room his own.

Their debut single, Millie and Gus (2023) backed by an animated from world renowned surfer and artist, Ozzy Wrong and scored a spot on the Internationally released 2025 Rip Curl Movie “Dunno”.

They followed up with Juice Stick (2024) which earned airplay on Triple J unearthed and saw them as an entrant in Unearthed High, this also landed on the Rip Curl “Dunno” movie.

By the time Queen Bee arrived (2025), the bands growing maturity was undeniable, still punk, still alt rock but with a fresh sonic depth and a video which offer a raw glimpse into their world.

On August 8 2025 they unleashed their fourth single, Criticise, Penalise, Attack and Slam, a raw blast of energy reminiscent of early Radio Birdman with shades of IDLES and 80’s US punk.

Fresh out of school but seasoned from relentless touring, Purple Disturbance have shared stages with, Grinspoon, YOUAMI, British India, The Screaming Jets, Dune Rats, The Beddy Rays and a lot more.

2025/26 looking huge!
